With a tethered design, these sunglasses reduce the size, weight and cost of electronics in the glasses themselves. Connections at the temple tips are inconspicuous, further minimizing design trade-offs in the glasses themselves. In lieu of the radio, other electronic components, such as an MP3 player or phone, can be substituted.
