The process is easy: simply link or secure our asset tracker with different sensors to a package and send it on its way. As the package travels, via the sensors, the tracker monitors its surrounding conditions—such as temperature, light, humidity, and vibration—as well as its location and speed, in real time. All of this information can be transmitted to a central server at a home office.

 

If something goes awry in transit, such as a threatening change in temperature, the asset tracker or the central server could alert the carrier immediately to take corrective action. An actuator can be activated to regulate the package’s environment, protecting more vulnerable deliveries, such as groceries, wine or medicine. If the package is a fragile item and the tracker detects an unsafe speed, it can promptly alert the driver to slow down.

 

If other undesirable interruptions occur, such as heavy jostling or collision, the central server can alert all the right people: senders, recipients, shippers, and insurers can all be kept in the loop. With timely alerts, you can address an issue before the package even reaches its destination. If the package is damaged, the central server also can assist customers through the insurance claim process and allow them to request replacements as soon as the tracker detects a problem.
