POWER MANAGEMENT
Perhaps one of the main challenges in battery-powered asset trackers—particularly over long durations, such as months or years—is that of power management. GPS can quickly drain a mobile device’s battery, if the unit is constantly acquiring and reporting its position.
Our asset tracker can mitigate its location acquisition and reporting frequency to better preserve power. It can passively wait until the package changes its position before acquiring and/or reporting again. The frequencies can be determined based on the tracker’s remaining battery level.
In cases where more frequent information is needed, a user can remotely set how often the asset tracker acquires and/or reports its location, perhaps to pay careful attention to expensive cargo, or find a late or missing package.
